Job purpose:
The Sales Director – Ireland will be responsible for leading Geely Auto Ireland’s sales function and retailer performance strategy across the Irish market.
As a key member of the Ireland leadership team, the role will be accountable for the development and execution of the company’s sales strategy, sales operations and commercial performance plans in support of Geely Auto’s long-term growth ambitions within Ireland.
The role will lead all aspects of retail sales performance, retailer network commercial management, sales forecasting, market competitiveness and tactical sales activity across the Irish market, ensuring delivery of volume, market share and profitability objectives.
Working closely with retailer partners and internal cross-functional teams, the Sales Director will play a critical role in supporting successful market launch activities, developing a high-performing retailer network and establishing Geely Auto as a competitive and sustainable automotive brand within Ireland.
The role will also be responsible for leading and developing the Ireland sales organisation, embedding a high-performance culture and scalable operational processes suitable for long-term business growth.
Main responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Commercial Leadership
Develop and implement Geely Auto Ireland’s sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives, market entry plans and long-term growth targets.
Lead delivery of vehicle sales targets, market share objectives and retailer performance KPIs across the Irish market.
Define and manage sales plans, tactical programmes and commercial initiatives to support sustainable business growth.
Lead sales forecasting, volume planning and order bank management activities in coordination with Operations, Logistics and Finance teams.
Monitor market conditions, competitor activity and pricing developments to maintain commercial competitiveness within the Irish market.
Provide strategic recommendations to support pricing, product positioning and tactical sales activity.
Retailer Network Performance Management
Develop strong commercial relationships with retailer partners and dealer group leadership teams.
Lead retailer performance management activities across the Irish network, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand standards.
Conduct regular retailer business reviews focused on sales performance, operational readiness, profitability and customer experience.
Support retailer onboarding, launch readiness and network development activities in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
Identify opportunities to improve retailer effectiveness, sales processes and customer acquisition performance across the network.
Ensure retailer operations are aligned with Geely Auto standards, customer expectations and long-term network development objectives.
Sales Operations & Business Planning
Lead the development of scalable sales processes, reporting structures and operational frameworks suitable for long-term business growth.
Oversee sales reporting, KPI management and performance analysis activities across the Ireland sales organisation.
Coordinate sales planning activities with Finance, Marketing, Aftersales and Operations functions.
Support effective management of vehicle supply, registration performance and retailer stock planning.
Drive operational discipline and process consistency across the retailer network and internal sales organisation.
Fleet, Leasing & Finance Programmes
Support development of fleet, leasing and business sales activities within the Irish market.
Develop relationships with key fleet, leasing and finance stakeholders where appropriate.
Support implementation of retail finance programmes and tactical campaign activity in coordination with finance partners and internal stakeholders.
Monitor fleet market developments and identify opportunities to support incremental sales growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Work collaboratively with Marketing, Aftersales, Operations, Finance and Network Development teams to support overall business objectives.
Support successful market launch execution, retailer readiness and customer experience delivery across the Irish market.
Contribute to broader business planning and operational development activities as part of the Ireland leadership team.
Support implementation of scalable business processes and operational standards across the Ireland organisation.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach and develop the Ireland sales team, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
Provide clear direction, performance management and ongoing development support to direct reports.
Support capability development and succession planning across the Ireland sales organisation.
Promote collaborative working practices and strong communication across internal and external stakeholder groups.
Education, Skills and Personal characteristics required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related discipline preferred.
Significant experience within automotive sales leadership, retail operations or dealer network management roles.
Strong understanding of automotive retailer operations, commercial performance management and customer sales processes.
Experience working within automotive OEM, distributor or retailer organisations.
Demonstrable experience delivering sales targets, leading commercial teams and managing retailer performance.
Experience supporting sales planning, forecasting and operational performance management activities.
Strong understanding of automotive finance, fleet and retail sales programmes advantageous.
Experience working cross-functionally across sales, marketing, operations and finance functions.
Existing relationships within the Irish automotive sector advantageous.
Comfortable operating within fast-paced, evolving and entrepreneurial business environments.
